Readers who have enjoyed the emotional, heartfelt stories of authors like Jodi Picoult and Nicholas Sparks may enjoy "this great read about life, love, and the consequences of choices and actions."
A contemporary romance for anyone who's ever believed that true love never leaves our hearts. . .
People say you can’t ever go back. That some of the things that happen to us simply cannot be redone.
But the paths of a life journey are rarely straight. They twist and turn and wind back across those once visited and long thought to have faded from existence.
Becca Miller has lived her life trying to do the right thing, even when its cost has been giving up the boy she loved and wanted to marry. The sacrifice she made for her sister isn’t one she regrets because there was no other choice for her to make. And for eighteen years, she lives this choice with full commitment and as little looking back as she can manage.
When Matt Griffith returns to Ballard County for the funeral of his grandmother, the path that had seemed so straight begins to loop back and take her across feelings she thought she had put away for good. As it turns out, those roads we’ve traveled do not fade at all. They simply wait to be retraveled, leaving us with the decision to follow them exactly as we did before, or make a different choice and find out where it will lead us. (Previously titled Crossing Tinker's Knob.)
"I don’t want to do an “actual” book review for this because it doesn’t need spoilers, it doesn’t need me to tell you what’s going to happen; YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK! It’s the epitome of women’s fiction. I’ve never read a women’s fiction book that I was so consumed by. Please take a few hours, a few days, whatever you need and read this book. It’s one my most favorites for 2014." - Shannon Daniel - Review
"This book moved me in ways that I find hard to explain in this review. The only thing I can compare it to is another book I read that also moved me in ways I couldn't explain - Night Road by Kristin Hannah. Ms. Cooper's writing is rich and descriptive; you can see and feel what the characters see and feel." - Reviewer ButtonsMom2003
"Oh wow...I just finished and am sitting here stunned by the depth of this story...I have had so many emotions rung out of me by these characters. Ms. Cooper's ability to capture so many characters individuality is storytelling at its best and says much about her talent as a writer!" - Reviewer S. Schwartz
"Crossing Tinker's Knob is one of those sit down and read it until it's done kind of books that takes you through the life of a young woman who gave up her true love to help her sister through a tragedy. You will be pulled into the story and find yourself rooting for the characters as they all face the consequences of decisions made 18 years ago. Life and love always find a way." - Reviewer K. White

I really liked this book, and got caught up in reading it, couldn't put it down. The chapters going between past and present slowly revealing the connections between Becca & Matt and young love. A love that neither character got over even though their lives went separate ways. The entire book you're waiting for them to admit their feelings for each other is just as strong as it was 18 years ago, waiting for them to rekindle their romance, going through all the build up of emotions ... BUT... then the book ends! There was no moment, no grand scene at the end of the book where they finally get together, none! Just a letter giving a recap of what happens. It's like the author wanted to finish the book but ran out of time so put a recap in a "letter" and missed out on the part that the entire book was leading up to. The book would have been great and I would have read it over & over if it gave you the ending it was leading up to. But instead it was a lot of build up leading to abrupt ending & disappointmentProduct details

And Then You Loved Me edition by Inglath Cooper Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
The author is telling you a very emotional story about people, young and old, and how they deal with social pressures, family ideals, and past decisions. Truly a book written from the heart, emotional and gut wrenching at times. With a few calm and breezy moments thrown in.
Skipping back and forth between past and present, the author tells you at the beginning of each chapter whether it’s “Then” or “Now,” making it easy to follow the changes from past to present or the reverse.
The first forty pages I thought it was the most depressing read I’d ever picked up. Well, surprise, it turned out to be one of the best books I’ve ever read. And at 76 I’ve read my share.
This was one of those books that I was sad to see end. It brought home the tangles that sometimes defines a family, secrets that change the course of their history, actions that force one into a life half lived because of loyalty to others. It also pointed out that those same secrets can be altered and that life can again be fully lived.
I am glad I ran across this one and decided to try an author I've never read. It's a great read about life, love, and consequences of choices and actions. Becca and Matt make awesome characters, but all the characters were realistic and fleshed out. I especially enjoyed their love story and the ending. Emmy's story was so sad, but serves to illustrate how suddenly things can turn for the worse and the consequences of poor choices and decisions and not liking someone just because they're different. This novel has powerful potential and illustrates that point as a main theme. The setting is described vividly with vibrant word descriptions that make you visualize the place. The best thing about the novel is the deepness of it. You don't realize just how deep it is until you're into the book. This is a wonderful book about life and love.
The book was very captivating in the beginning and middle, really had me hooked, but the ending was so short, to the point, and basically ruined the book for me, it was beautifully written and then I felt as if the ending was rushed.
First time I've read this author, and most definitely last. The true essence of the story is grossly re-interpreted in the author's description. Nothing against them, I live in a community that is 50% Mennonite, but if I wanted to read a story about them, I would. I would go out and purchase it, and I am disappointed that one of the prevailing themes in the book was so completely misrepresented.
I won't read this author again, and I think that she might find more success if she was less misleading in her description.
Do you remember the love that you lost ? Do you remember being young and in love ? Do you remember people telling you that you were too young or that you could not marry the one you loved for various reasons , and life went on and you never forgot ... This book will take you back to the road not taken and the journey is worth the price of the book !
I usually read the reviews and let other people's opinions persuade whether or not I read a certain book. Well, this book got great reviews, some of the best I've seen. So, I did not hesitate to buy it. Along with the good reviews the synopsis sounded interesting. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! It took everything I had to make it through 50% (and that was with skipping pages at a time)!
I thought it was boring, the characters were under-developed and unlikeable. The cover is misleading, as well. I was confused by the setting/time frame until I finally realized that this family has religious beliefs of which they choose to minimize their interactions with the outside world... which is fine, but I would've preferred this piece of information to be included in the synopsis. Afterall, it was the main cause of most of the conflict in the story.
On a positive note, it was well written/edited, with very little spelling and grammar mistakes. Usually, this would encourage me to read another book from this author, but the story itself left me nervous to try again.
Like I said before, I will think again before trusting reviews. Now I'm afraid that I've passed up some really good books due to untrustworthy reviews!
