This book deals with history and genealogy of some ancestors of the Manden, a large family of ethnic groups in West Africa speaking one of the many variations of the Manden language. The Mandinka, a branch of the Manden, are credited with the foundation of the largest ancient West African empires. As in the universal history, the African woman played a vital role in the life of kingdoms and empires. According to the Mandinka’s belief, the destiny of a man is drawn by God. Hands that achieve this destiny are very often those of women. This was the case of these three famous sons of Manden Soundiata Keita, Almamy Samory Touré and Abdourahmane Kaba.
